Chinese drama, The Early Spring, has almost everything needed to become a memorable slow-burn romance. It has attractive leads, beautiful cinematography, a relationship that develops over several years and enough emotional history between its central characters to sustain a 24-episode story. Yet, after watching the series, the biggest feeling is that something is missing.
