Noida Twin Towers demolished: The controlled demolition of Supertech's Twin Towers residetial buidling in Noida were successfully done in a controlled manner under supervision of hundreds of officials in Noida sector 93A on Sunday. A huge crowd gathered in the near vicinity though a few kilometres away in the safe zone. The trigger to blast almost 3700 kilo explosives was pressed at 2:30 pm under experts spervision and the structures were brought to rubble in just 9 seconds. The crowd gathered at different locations to witness the historic clash clapped and cheered as they welcomed the demolition. Soon after the demolition, a huge cloud of dust encirled the nearby areas with dust and rumble all across roads and adjacent buildings. Thankfully, there was no damage to nearby buildings except to an adjacent wall and cracks in few windows. About 5,000 people from the adjoining Emerald Court and ATS Village societies had left their homes, hours before the demolition under the evacuation plan. Nearly 3,000 vehicles and about 200 pets were also taken out of harm’s way for the next several hours. The dust settled in a few minutes. A team from Edifice Engineering and South Africa’s Jet Demolitions – the two companies that carried out the challenging task – the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) and the Noida Authority began a structural audit of the adjoining buildings.
